Lustau Jarana Fino Sherry
Lustau Jarana is a crisp, lively Fino that wears its youthful energy on its sleeve—fresh, intensely dry, and saline. It is bright but not thin, offering a clean and breezy Sherry experience that pairs easily with food or aperitivo moments.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Jarana is part of Lustau’s Solera Familiar series, produced in Jerez de la Frontera under the D.O. Jerez. It is made entirely from Palomino Fino grapes.
The wine undergoes aging under flor (the protective yeast layer) in an active solera system (Solera & Criaderas) in Jerez’s humid bodegas. The flor maintains a reductive environment, limiting oxidation and preserving freshness, sharpness, and nutty character. The solera system blends wines of different vintages to maintain consistency, vitality, and complexity over time.
Tasting Profile
Nose: Crisp and sharp—green almond, fresh almond skin, hay, chalky mineral, and lemon peel. Beneath those is a whisper of olives, brine, and sea-air salinity, with a faint floral lift (white florals or chamomile).
Palate: Very dry, with brisk acidity. Flavors of green apple, tart lemon rind, almond skin, and a saline backbone dominate. The flor delivers a slight savory grip (almond paste, yeast bread crust) that rounds the edges.
Finish: Clean, saline, and lingering. The aftertaste features almond, sea salt, and dry citrus pith. The wine fades without heaviness, leaving a refreshing, dry imprint.

"The NV Fino Jarana, aged in Jerez, has a beautiful, classical Fino nose of chalk, dry hay, dry straw (esparto) and nuts, while the palate is very dry, intense and pungent, long, with a pleasant bitter finish. It’s both intense and fine. " Robert Parker 89 Points
